
Lawrence Wins Seventh in Fisher Cats' 5-3 Win

HARRISBURG, PA---Casey Lawrence returned home on Friday night, and dazzled friends and family by working eight innings to earn his seventh win in the Fisher Cats 5-3 decision over Harrisburg.
The 26-year old right hander from McSherrystown, PA, allowed two unearned runs on four hits. He walked one and struck out four.
New Hampshire's Dalton Pompey lead off the game with a triple to the gap in left center field and scored on a Matt Newman sacrifice fly for the game's first run.
The Fisher Cats (50-56) tacked on a run in the top of the fourth inning. Newman doubled, moved to third on a groundout, and scored on a wild pitch to make it 2-0 New Hampshire.
The lead ballooned to 5-0 in the top of the fifth. Derrick Chung singled and scored on a double by K. C. Hobson (3-for-4). Jorge Flores singled and stole second. Jon Berti then delivered a two-run single off Harrisburg starter James Simmons (LP: 2-1).
Harrisburg (42-63) put together a two-out rally in the bottom of the seventh inning to get on the board. Jason Martinson singled and Drew Vettleson doubled. Both scored on an error by Andy Burns to cut the lead to 5-2.
The Senators added a run in the bottom of the ninth inning. Kevin Keyes singled and scored on a another double by Vettleson. Mickey Storey came back to retire Ricky Hague and Brian Jeroloman for his first New Hampshire save.
The series continues on Saturday in Harrisburg, Pa. First pitch is at 6 p.m. with LHP John Anderson (3-2, 4.58) on the hill for the Fisher Cats. RHP Scott McGregor (0-1, 8.27) starts for the Senators. Radio coverage begins at 5:45 p.m. with Bob Lipman on WGIR 610 AM and www.nhfishercats.com.
The Fisher Cats return home after the road trip for an epic four-day, five-game homestand with the Reading Fightin Phils.
