'DOGS DOWN SOUTH : Portland opens up a six-game roadtrip on Tuesday night against the Bowie Baysox (Orioles affiliate) from Prince George's Stadium.. .The 'Dogs are 0-2-2 in their last four road series - the last series victory on June 26-29 at Reading...Portland's magic number to clinch a playoff spot is 13 games, and with Sunday's victory, they clinched a winning record for the first time since 2008...LHP Brian Johnson, the league leader in ERA (2.05), makes his first career start against Bowie.

NICE FIRST IMPRESSION : LHP Eduardo Rodriguez tossed 5.1 innings on two hits, one run and seven strikeouts, leading the Sea Dogs to a 4-1 win over Trenton...Rodriguez made his organizational debut, after being acquired from Baltimore for LHP Andrew Miller...CF Shannon Wilkerson snapped a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring single in the fifth, his first game-winning RBI of the season...3B Mike Miller went 2-for-2 with an RBI in two walks in his Double-A debut...RHP Noe Ramirez worked two scoreless frames to secure his 13th save of the season...RHP Dayan Diaz set up the save with 1.2 scoreless.
