Harrisburg Senators News Release

The Harrisburg Senators could not add on to their early lead as the Reading Fightin' Phils took a 3-2 victory on Tuesday night at FirstEnergy Stadium.

Despite not having his best command, James Simmons battled through 5.2 innings, allowing three runs on seven hits and five walks. Simmons left the game with runners on first and third in the sixth inning, but Neil Holland, who was pitching for a second consecutive day, recorded the final out of the inning. Paul Demny breezed through two clean innings in which he struck out three batters to keep Harrisburg close.

The Senators had no problems getting runners on base all night long starting with loading the bases in the first inning. Harrisburg came away with only two runs in the opening frame on sacrifice flies by Kevin Keyes and Jason Martinson. Seven different Senators reached base, including seven hits and three walks. Cutter Dykstra, Cole Leonida, Drew Vettleson and Adrian Sanchez (2-for-3) all doubled in the game, but Harrisburg was 0-for-10 with runners in scoring position and left seven men on base.

Game three of the four-game set will begin at 7:05 p.m. at FirstEnergy Stadium. Harrisburg's Paolo Espino will look to follow up his best outing of 2014 with another quality start as he takes on Phillies pitching prospect Aaron Nola, who will be making his AA debut. The game can be heard beginning with the pregame show at 6:50 p.m. on 1460 AM or via senatorsbaseball.com, 1460theticket.com or the iHeart Radio app.

The Senators box office is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tickets are available via telephone during the same hours as the box office hours.
