The Fightin Phils (49-67) are riding behind Zach Collier's home run streak as they beat the Harrisburg Senators (47-68) on Tuesday night 3-2. Zach Collier's two run home run in the in the bottom of the 4th inning was his fifth in four straight games.
Hoby Milner got into trouble out of the gate as he gave up a lead-off double in the top of the 1st inning to Cutter Dykstra followed by a walk to Quincy Lattimore and committing an error that allowed Matt Skole to reach base. The Senators had the bases loaded and scored two runs on back-to-back sacrifice flies by Kevin Keyes and Jason Martinson to give the Senators a 2-0 lead.
Reading cut the lead in half 2-1 in the bottom of the 2nd inning as Zach Collier scored on a fielder's choice by Albert Cartwright off Senators starter James Simmons. Collier was moved over to third-base in the previous at-bat with a base hit by Hoby Milner. Zach Collier gave the Fightin Phils a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the 4th inning as he hit a two-run home run off Simmons to score KC Serna. The home run by Collier was his fifth home run in four straight games.
Hoby Milner (7-5) pitched six innings to earn the win and allowed two runs (one earned) off six hits with three walks and two strikeouts. Mike Nesseth pitched two scoreless innings in relief as Colton Murray pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn his third save.
The Fightin Phils and Harrisburg Senators will tomorrow night at FirstEnergy Stadium beginning at 7:05 pm. 2014 Philadelphia Phillies First-Round Draft Pick Aaron Nola (0-0, 0.00 ERA) will be making his first Double-A start.
