IT'S MAY DAY:The Sea Dogs went 7-13 in April, tied for the second worst opening month in team history, and open up a seven-game roadtrip on Friday night against the Reading Fightin Phils (Phillies affiliate)...Portland and Reading played an Opening Day doubleheader due to consecutive postponements on April 9-10 - the Phils took two of three...The Fightins have allowed the second fewest runs in the league and rank third in hitting at .271...Portland took eight of 11 at First Energy Stadium in 2014.

THOSE GAMES STING: Binghamton hit three homers and their bullpen worked five scoreless innings, beating the Sea Dogs 8-3 on Wednesday night at Hadlock Field...Josh Rodriguez went 2-for-4 with a homer and a bases-clearing double...Aderlin Rodriguez hit a two-out, two-run homer in the seventh inning for the final 2 runs of the game...Mike McCarthy (2-2) took the loss for Portland, giving up six runs on 8 hits over 4 IP...Adam Kolarek earned his first win of the season, tossing 3 scoreless frames on one hit...Luis Martinez went 3-for-4 with a run-scoring double in the fourth.
