Schwarz Recalled by Blues

The St. Louis Blues announced today that goaltender Marek Schwarz has been recalled from the Peoria Rivermen of the American Hockey League.

The 21-year-old southpaw netminder has posted a 4-3-1-2 record with a 2.30 GAA and .900 save percentage in 11 appearances this year with Peoria. A first-round selection for the Blues (17th overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Schwarz appeared in two games with the Blues last year, going 0-1-0 with a 3.00 GAA and .880 save percentage.

The Rivermen will take on the Quad City Flames Friday, December 7 and Saturday, December 8 at 7 pm. Friday's game will feature the team's Third Annual Teddy Bear Toss and is Coca-Cola 2-for-$22 night. Saturday is "Coats for Kids Night" in conjunction with the Salvation Army, and fans are encouraged to bring warm winter clothing for donation that night. Saturday is also "Playful Vegas Escape" Night, with a pair of lucky fans winning a trip to Las Vegas including airfare, hotel, and dinner for two! Must be 21 to enter, and the winner will be selected during the second intermission of Saturday night's game.
