School's In Session At Sovereign Bank Stadium Thursday

(York, Pa.): All teachers are invited to bring their students to Sovereign Bank Stadium to see the York Revolution take on the Newark Bears on Thursday, September 6 at 11:05 a.m. for Baseball in Education Day.

Several York County schools, including Central York, Christ Church Child Care, Crispus Attucks, Dallastown Middle School, Devers Elementary, Ferguson Elementary, Hannah Penn Middle School, Hanover, IU 12 Yorkshire, Smith Middle School, St. Joseph Elementary School, St. Patrick's School and William Penn have already committed to this event and will be in attendance.

Sponsored by the York Daily Record, the York Dispatch and the York Sunday News, this special event provides an educational learning experience in a fun, safe environment. As each student enters the ballpark, they will receive an educational workbook centered around baseball. Educational booths will be on display in the Concourse area of the Stadium. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in fun activities throughout the game.

"This is a great opportunity for school districts throughout York County to participate with us, and this proves to be a really fun day for the kids," said York Revolution General Manager Matt O'Brien.

The York Revolution is also encouraging those who work in the Downtown York area and the surrounding community to take a long lunch hour and attend the final game of the three game series against the Newark Bears. The Revolution will also conclude their 12-game Homestand, which began August 26.

Fans can now enjoy grilled chicken sandwiches, cheese steaks, soft pretzels and fountain sodas, which have all been added to the Stadium menu, when they attend York Revolution home games.
