
Schemitsch Named to OHL's Second All-Rookie Squad

Toronto, ON - The Ontario Hockey League today announced that forward Matt Puempel of the Peterborough Petes is the recipient of the Emms Family Award presented to the OHL's Rookie of the Year for the 2009-10 season. In addition to the Rookie of the Year, the league also today announced the OHL's first and second All-Rookie teams. Attack Rookie rearguard Geoffrey Schemitsch, who is currently representing Canada at the World Under 18 Championships in Belarus was named to the OHL's second All-Rookie team.
The Vaughan native tallied 4 goals and 36 assists in 60 games this season and has quickly turned into one of the Ontario Hockey League's premier defensive prospects for this summers NHL Entry Draft in Los Angeles.
The Attack congratulates Geoffrey on his accomplishment and wishes him and teammate Steven Shipley the best of luck representing Team Canada in Belarus.
