
Savard Assigned To Falcons

Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons announced on Saturday that defenseman David Savard has been assigned to the club by its NHL affiliate, the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Savard was recalled by the Blue Jackets from the Falcons last month at the start of the 2012-2013 NHL season. In three games with Columbus, Savard is scoreless while collecting 44:35 of ice time and registering a -3 rating. Savard has 21 points (3g-18a) and is +12 in 34 contests with the Falcons during his third professional season.
A native of St. Hyacinthe, Quebec, Savard has accumulated 10 points (2g-8a) in 34 career NHL games and has compiled 86 points (18g-68a) in 150 AHL outings. The 22-year-old was selected by Columbus in the fourth round (94th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
Sunday's Falcons game against the Portland Pirates at the MassMutual Center will be played as scheduled, with the opening face-off set for 3:00 p.m. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a free Falcons baseball hat, courtesy of the University of New Haven.
Single-game tickets to see the Falcons in 2012-2013 can be purchased at the MassMutual Center Box Office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. through game time on Saturday home dates, and starting four hours prior to Sunday home contests.
