The first frame ended up scoreless as the Stars outshot the Bulldogs 15-6.
The Stars opened the scoring at 4:41 of the second stanza on a tally by Luke Gazdic. Taylor Vause took a shot from the slot which was stopped by Mayer and Gazdic poked the loose puck from under Mayer and into the back of the net.
The Bulldogs tied the score at 14:32 of the second period as Texas Stars starting goaltender Jack Campbell was on the bench due to a delayed penalty call and the puck was shot by a Texas defender into the empty net. Jason DeSantis was credited with the goal, his fourth of the season. After 40 minutes of play, the Stars led the 'Dogs 30-14 in shots.
Hamilton broke the tie 16:28 into the third frame on Pateryn's second goal of the season and second in three games. Louis Leblanc put a shot on Campbell from the slot and the rebound came out to Pateryn who buried the puck by Campbell. The Stars outshot the Bulldogs 37-23 to finish the game.
