Syracuse, NY- The Syracuse Crunch jumped out to a 2-0 lead but the Albany Devils scored four third period goals to drop the Crunch 4-3 tonight at the War Memorial Arena.

The Crunch saw goals from Tyler Johnson and Vlad Namestnikov along with 17 saves from netminder Dustin Tokarski. With a loss tonight the Crunch fall to 26-14-2-2 overall and 10-8-2-2 at the War Memorial.

After a scoreless first period Namestnikov opened the scoring with his third goal of the season 1:39 into the second period. JT Wyman skated the puck around the boards behind the net before his centering feed found Namestnikov alone in the slot.

Johnson scored his first goal of the night with just 12 seconds to play in the middle frame. Johnson intercepted a pass in the neutral zone and beat Albany goaltender Keith Kinkaid to give the Crunch a 2-0 lead after 40 minutes.

The Devils scored the next four goals beginning with left wing Joe Whitney 4:03 into the third period. Whitney's goal was assisted by Matt Anderson, who finished the night with three points. Scott Parse tied the game with a power-play tally at the 10:32. The Devils were on the man-advantage after the Crunch had been whistled for delay of game.

Anderson gave the Devils a 3-2 lead at the 12:01 mark of the third period and Tim Sestito extended the lead with a wrap-around goal with 2:20 to play in the final frame.

Johnson brought the Crunch within one after Kinkaid bobbled a shot and Johnson was able to put in the rebound.
