LEXINGTON, Ky. - Josh Satin hit a grand slam in the ninth inning to put the finishing touches on a, 7-1, Sand Gnats victory in front of 7,007 at Applebee's Park Friday night. Satin's grand slam is his first home run of the season and the first by a Sand Gnats since Roger Bernadina hit one on August 18, 2005 in Charleston. The win also gave manager Edgar Alfonzo his 200th career victory.

Jeff Kaplan (4-1) went seven innings for the second time in his past three starts to earn his third win in a row and his team-leading fourth win. The Dana Point, Calif. native allowed just one run on six hits with five strikeouts in the win. Rhiner Cruz pitched the final two innings for his fifth save of the season.

Savannah staked Kaplan to a 1-0 lead in the fourth when Eric Campbell hit a ball inside the bag at first and down into the right field corner to bring Sean Ratliff around from first. With the score tied at one in the eighth, Campbell slugged his second double of the game to drive in Satin and Ratliff to break the deadlock. The Norwich, Conn. product finished the game 2-for-3 with 3 RBI.

Satin and Lagares each added two hits to the Savannah offensive while Rafael Fernandez went 0-for-4 to end his hitting streak at 10 games.

Arcenio Leon started the game for Lexington and permitted one run on three hits in four innings for the no decision. Jack Tilghman (1-3) suffered the loss in relief for the Legends.

The Sand Gnats (19-15) will look for their third straight win tomorrow when they take the field at 7:05 p.m. Southpaw Robert Carson (2-3, 2.20) will be on the mound for Savannah while Lexington counters with RHP Robert Bono (4-1, 1.91).
