Swift Current, SK -- The Saskatoon Blades scored six goals on the road to earn a valuable two points in the standings on Saturday night with a 6-4 victory over the Swift Current Broncos. The Blades now move back to within two points of the Brandon Wheat Kings and third place in the East Division.

Alex Morozoff got the party started after jumping on a missed pass in the high slot early in the first period. The Broncos would answer just minutes later through Kaleb Bulych.

Kyle Crnkovic put the visiting Blades back in front with his 16th goal of the season. The 17-year-old sophomore winger's goal came short-handed and unassisted, giving the Blades a 2-1 lead at the first break of the night.

Swift Current was quick to tie things up just 1:11 into the middle period as Kaleb Bulych assisted veteran D-Jay Jerome on his 17th. The action continued in the second period with a pair of Blades goals from Randen Schmidt (2nd) and Chase Wouters (22nd).

Just as the Blades captain Chase Wouters put his club up by two goals, Swift Current captain Jaxan Kaluski responded before the second intermission to make it 4-3 Saskatoon after forty minutes. The Blades dominated on the shot clock at this point leading 26-8.

Then in the third period, captain Chase Wouters found Caiden Daley all alone in the slot to restore the two-goal cushion. Rookie Colton Dach picked up the second assist on Daley's 4th of the season. Again, the Broncos answered back as Kaleb Bulych added his second tally of the night. It was enough to get the home team within one goal to try for an equalizer with an empty net. The bid was unsuccessful as Tristen Robins made them pay with his 27th of the season into the yawning cage.

Robins finished the night with 1G-2A to increase his team leading point total to 60 points. Kyle Crnkovic was named 1st star of the game for his three point (1G-2A) outing. Chase Wouters was the third star with a goal, a helper, and 11 face-off wins in 17 attempts. Rookie net minder Koen MacInnes made just 12 saves for his 12th victory of the year.

The Blades will now return home for the week before visiting the Regina Pats on Friday. Then on Saturday the 22nd, the blue & gold welcome the Swift Current Broncos to SaskTel Centre for the season series finale at 7:00pm.
