T-Birds Drop Close Game to Tips

EVERETT - The Everett Silvertips defeated the Seattle Thunderbirds 2-1 Friday night at Angel of the Winds Arena.

The T-Birds play the Vancouver Giants at 6:05pm Saturday at accesso ShoWare Center. Hockey Challenge 2020 is Saturday and will feature seven games at accesso ShoWare Center, highlighted by Team Olczyk vs. Team Patterson in the Celebrity and T-Birds Alumni All-Star Game right after the game against the Giants. The 22nd annual Hockey Challenge supports the operations of the Seattle Ronald McDonald House. Single game tickets are on sale online on the T-Birds website and at the accesso ShoWare Center box office.

Seattle is now 21-25-3-3 and in the second Wild Card playoff spot in the Western Conference. They are three points behind the Kelowna Rockets who are in first Wild Card spot with a 24-25-1-2 record.

Everett had a 1-0 lead after one period of play on a goal by Ty Kolle.

Seattle tied the game 1-1 at 10:53 of the second period. Keltie Jeri-Leon skated hard down the right wing and took the puck behind the Everett net. Jeri-Leon centered the puck to Conner Roulette in the low slot. Roulette took a shot that got behind Everett goalie Dustin Wolf. Matthew Rempe crashed the net and jammed the puck in at the left post for his ninth goal of the season.

The Silvertips took a 2-1 lead on a power-play goal at 19:01 of the second by Bryce Kindopp.

Seattle pulled goalie Roddy Ross for an extra attacker with 2:37 left in the game. The T-Birds had good pressure and forced two icings by the Silvertips but could not get the tying goal.

The T-Birds are now taking orders for Flex-24 Ticket packages. Fans that purchase the 24-Flex Ticket Package will be able to select any available premium seat for any game, in any ticket combination, during the 2019-20 season.
