ICE Battle Hurricanes on Back-To-Back Nights

The ICE and Hurricanes will meet for the fourth and final time this year and the second is as many nights. The Hurricanes got the better of the ICE last night in a 5-4 spirited affair. Lethbridge came to Winnipeg earlier in the year for a two game series. A series the teams split with one win a piece inside the ICE Cave. The ICE picked up a 4-3 shootout win over the Canes in the first meeting before the Hurricanes came storming back and won 8-2 the following night.

The ICE come into this one looking to regain the East Division lead where the Hurricanes still have their eyes set on catching the Edmonton Oil Kings.

The ICE look to get back on track tonight after dropping the contest yesterday. Prior to last nights game the ICE were winners of their last three contests and most recently over the Swift Current Broncos on Wednesday night by a final of 8-3. The loss last night has dropped their record to 5-5-0-0 over the last ten games. The Hurricanes continue to roll and will look to improve their record over the last 10 games which sits at 8-2-0-0.

The ICE continue to duke it out with the Prince Albert Raiders for first spot in the East Division which the Prince Albert currently holds by two points after picking up a win last night.. The ICE have two games in hand on the Raiders and sit only two points back.

LAST GAME - 5-4 LOSS IN LETHBRIDGE: The ICE opened the scoring 11:17 into the first on a two man advantage. Peyton Krebs set up Michal Teply in the slot and he made no mistake scoring his 25th of the season. 15 seconds after that Dylan Cozens scored his first of two in the period to tie this one up. Cozens added another just over a minute later to give the Hurricanes a one goal lead after one period of play.

The Hurricanes opened the scoring in the second 44 seconds in the period. Kambeitz scored his 14th of the season to give the home team a two goal advantage. That would be the only scoring of the second and the ICE would head into the third period down by a pair.

The Hurricanes got another one early in the third to make the lead 4-1 with just over 17 minutes to play. The ICE wouldn't go away, Michal Teply scored his second of the game with nine minutes to go in the third. Just over a minute late, Cole Muir brought the ICE within one with his 10th of the season. Nino Kinder picked up the assist on the goal. Cozens would get his third of the night to give the Hurricanes a 5-3 lead with just under five minutes to go. Owen Pederson would bring the ICE back within one with just under a minute to go but the ICE would ultimately come up short.
