The Winterhawks enter Saturday night sitting nine points up on the Silvertips to first place in the division and there are still four more head-to-head meetings this season, including tonight.

Like Portland, Everett is also coming off a win this weekend when they beat Seattle 2-1 at home to clinch a playoff spot. The 'Tips became the third WHL Club to punch their ticket to the 2020 postseason. They will have their work cut out for them tonight if they want to catch the Hawks in the standings so these final head-to-head match-ups carry a lot of importance.

Bryce Kindopp and Cole Fonstad lead the Silvertips in scoring production up front. Captain Kindopp ranks fourth in the WHL with 33 goals, while Fonstad has blossomed his game to a 51 assist effort which is currently the second most in the league. Defenseman Jake Christiansen has an eye-popping total of 17 goals and 39 points despite missing over two months of the season when he was playing in the American Hockey League on a PTO. Goaltender Dustin Wolf has improved his numbers lately, giving him a first place goals-against average below 2.00 and a league leading .936 save percentage. He has only allowed six goals in his last seven home starts dating back to December 14, 2019.

Seth Jarvis enters the contest with multiple goals in his last three games, giving him 32 goals this season and six game-winning goals. Last night, his line accounted for six points and 32-percent of the shot production against Spokane. Kade Nolan has a career-high four-game point streak that is extending into tonight's game. The Winterhawks know how to pull away in games (19-2 record in games decided by three or more goals) and they can finish the tight match-ups as well (going 13-2-3-4 in one-goal games).

There are still two more head-to-head meetings in February and March with each team hosting twice. Buckle up because these points could very well be the difference between the Winterhawks winning their first U.S. Division Regular Season Championship since the 2013-14 season.
