June 29, 2015 - Canadian American League (Can-Am)
New York Boulders News Release
(POMONA, NY) -The Can-Am League announced Monday afternoon that Rockland Boulders relief pitcher Luis Sanz was named the Pointstreak Player of the Week for the week ending June 28. Sanz becomes the fourth Boulder to earn league honors this season, and the first pitcher to do so.
Sanz appeared in four games, notching three saves, without allowing a run over the course of the week. During that time, the Boulders (23-11) went 6-1, including their first ever undefeated Canadian road trip. The right-hander earned all three saves north of the border, closing the door on Thursday against Ottawa before also helping nail down victories on both Saturday and Sunday in Quebec.
On the year, Sanz is 0-1 with a 0.73 earned run average and seven saves. In 12.1 innings of work he has relinquished just five hits while striking out 10. The first-place Boulders return home for a five-game home stand, beginning with a three-game series against Kansas City at Provident Bank Park.
