Brown Earns Player of the Week Award

DURHAM, NC- The official statistician of the Can-Am League, Pointstreak, has announced that Trois-Rivieres Aigles OF Steve Brown (pictured) has been named this week's Pointstreak Player of the Week for the week ending June 28.

Brown, a third-year member of the Aigles, was 12-for-22 (.545) at the plate this week, picking up a triple, two home runs and driving in eight. Trois-Rivieres went 3-3 on the week in a homestand at Stade Fernand-Bedard in Trois-Rivieres.

Brown began his week on Monday with a 3-for-4 game against the Shikoku Island All-Stars. Brown hit his first homer of the week, drove in four and scored three runs in a 9-6 loss for Trois-Rivieres. Although Brown only had one hit on Tuesday, he made it count, as he picked up his lone triple of the week. Brown scored a run in the game, a 10-4 Aigles win over Shikoku. Trois-Rivieres was able to take the series with a 6-1 win on Wednesday, a game in which Brown went 2-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored.

Thursday marked the beginning of another interleague series for Trois-Rivieres as they hosted the Kansas City T-Bones of the American Association. Brown went 2-for-4 with a run scored in a 5-4 Aigles loss to open the set. A day later, he was 3-for-4 with his second homer of the week, two RBI and a run scored. Unfortunately for Trois-Rivieres, Brown drove in the only two runs of the game as the T-Bones won 8-2. The Aigles won Saturday's ballgame 6-2, and Brown had a 1-for-3 line with an RBI and a walk.

Brown is now batting .357 for the season (40-for-112) with five doubles, a triple and four home runs with 22 RBI.

Before coming to Trois-Rivieres, Brown originally played in the Houston Astros' system. He spent six seasons playing at levels from the Venezuelan League to Class A Advanced Lancaster in the California League. He spent 2010 and 2011 with the Edmonton Capitals before suiting up for the Quebec Capitales in 2012.

Trois-Rivieres returns to playing Can-Am League opponents on Tuesday night at the Sussex County Miners. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m. at Skylands Stadium. That game, like all Can-Am League games, will be available live and for free at www.canamleague.tv.
