Zebulon, NC --- Florida Marlins RHP Anibal Sanchez will make a rehabilitation start with the Carolina Mudcats tomorrow night in the middle game of their series against the Mississippi Braves.

Sanchez, who joined the club yesterday, has been progressing well since undergoing right shoulder surgery last June. Sanchez, 24, was 2-1 over six starts with Florida, with his last big league action at Shea Stadium on May 2, 2007.

Sanchez was 3-6 over 15 starts with Carolina in 2006, including tossing a shutout at Chattanooga in his final minor league start before being summoned to Yankee Stadium for his major league debut June 25th against the Yankees. Sanchez proceeded to win 10 games in 2006 for the Marlins, including throwing a no-hitter during his rookie campaign against the Arizona Diamondbacks on September 6th.

Sanchez made his first rehab start in the Gulf Coast League, then made a pair of starts for High-A Jupiter on July 8th and 13th, working 5 2/3 scoreless innings in his last outing against Fort Myers.

Sanchez will be the third Marlins major leaguer to rehab with the Mudcats this season, joining OF Josh Willingham and RHP Josh Johnson, who have both successfully returned to the Marlins.

The Mudcats' contest with the Braves can be heard locally on WDOX-AM 570 and WKXU-FM 102-5 FM, and worldwide on www.carolinamudcats.com. The first pitch is scheduled for 8:05 PM ET from Trustmark Park in Pearl, MS.
