MOBILE, Ala. - After grabbing an early lead on Thursday, the BayBears weren't able to hang on as the Chattanooga Lookouts chipped away and walked out with a 3-2, 10-inning victory at Hank Aaron Stadium.

Cyle Hankerd produced two runs for the BayBears (40-56, 11-15) in the bottom of the first as his single to left field plated Orlando Mercado and Gerardo Parra. From there, it was a long night for the BayBear bats as they were blanked on five hits by five Lookout (49-48, 12-15) pitchers including starter Travis Wood, who tossed five innings.

Tony Barnette was also brilliant through five with his only blemish coming on a Sean Henry home run in the fifth. Chattanooga tied the game in the eighth inning as Tonys Gutierrez doubled off Cody Evans to bring home Eric Eymann. Despite the game-tying smack, Evans was sharp for three frames out of the pen with five strikeouts and only two hits allowed.

With the score tied at 2-2 in the 10th, the Lookouts manufactured a run as Michael DeJesus led off with a single, moved to second on a sac bunt and scored on a knock by Danny Dorn. With a chance to tie in the bottom of the inning, Yunesky Sanchez tried to score from second on a fielder's choice off the bat of Parra, but he was gunned down at the dish by the first baseman, Gutierrez.

Hector Ambriz (5-11, 5.38) takes the bump for the BayBears on Friday at 7:05 in game three of the series with the Lookouts against righty Sam LeCure (7-4, 3.53). Call for tickets at (251) 479-BEAR or log on to www.mobilebaybears.com.
