
San Jose Sharks Recall Dimitri Patzold, Assign Thomas Greiss

SAN JOSE - San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has assigned goaltender Thomas Greiss to Worcester (AHL) and recalled goaltender Dimitri Patzold from Worcester.
Patzold, 25, made his NHL debut this season and has appeared in three games with San Jose, all in relief of Evgeni Nabokov. In 44 minutes of work, he has yet to record a decision and owns a 5.45 goals against average and an .800 save percentage. In 10 games with Worcester this season, Patzold has a 4-4-1 record with a .906 save percentage and a 2.94 goals against average.
The six-foot, 195-pound native of Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan was selected by San Jose in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft (fourth round, 107th overall).
Greiss, 22, made his NHL debut with a 25-save overtime loss at Anaheim on Jan. 13. He is 0-0-1 with a 3.93 goals against average and a .862 save percentage. He has posted a 12-10-1 record with a .900 save percentage and a 3.03 goals against average for Worcester this season.
The six-foot-one, 200-pound native of Fussen, Germany was selected by San Jose in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft (3rd round, 94th overall).
