San Diego Closes Out First Half of the Season with Tons of Appearances

SAN DIEGO – The last few weeks the San Diego Gulls have focused on helping the Asia Tsunami victims, so far raising about $4,000. However, the Blue and Orange haven't forgotten anyone back home, closing out the first half of the season with tons of appearances.

Here's an updated list of some of the events the players and staff have attended:

Dec. 4: The Gulls' mascot appeared at the Ocean Beach Tree Committee's Toy Run Fun Zone, helping kids decorate the Ocean Beach Christmas Tree.

Dec. 4: Gulls representatives appeared at the Westfield Shopping Town Plaza Camino Real in Carlsbad. They signed autographs to promote the Gulls' Holiday Ticket Packages.

Dec. 4: Jonathon Shockey signed autographs after the Gulls - Steelheads game and helped promote the Gulls' Holiday Ticket Packages.

Dec. 6: Mike Garrow and Guillaume Fournier appeared at the Arena Club for the "Help Just One" annual Christmas party. They helped hand out presents and food baskets to underprivileged children. They also were on-hand for pictures and autographs.

Dec. 7: Martin St. Amour, Mark Pederson, Trevor Koenig and Sylvain Deschatelets appeared at the 10th annual Shop With a Jock event, which took place at the Mervyns directly across the Sports Arena. Shop With A Jock is a yearly function, organized by the Junior Seau Foundation. Those participating helped underprivileged children shop for their holiday wish list.

Dec. 10: Gulls representatives appeared at the Westfield Shopping Town Plaza Camino Real in Carlsbad. They were on hand to sign autographs and promote the Gulls' Holiday Ticket Packages.

Dec. 11: Gulls representatives appeared at the Westfield Shopping Town Plaza Camino Real in Carlsbad. They were on hand to sign autographs and promote the Gulls' Holiday Ticket Packages.

Dec. 18: The Gulls' mascot appeared at the third annual Bikes For Kids Party, held in Poway. Each year hundreds of bikes are given away to orphaned and disadvantaged children in San Diego. All of the money raised for this event went to the kids, in the form of bikes, helmets, food and funding for the party.

Dec. 18: Gulls representatives appeared at the Westfield Shopping Town Plaza Camino Real in Carlsbad. They were on hand to sign autographs and promote the Gulls' Holiday Ticket Packages.

Dec. 19: Gulls representatives appeared at the Westfield Shopping Town Plaza Camino Real in Carlsbad. They were on hand to sign autographs and promote the Gulls' Holiday Ticket Packages.

Jan. 6: The Gulls Girls appeared at Dana Middle School to help their bake sale and promote ticket sales for their fundraiser with the Gulls.

Jan. 8: As part of the Gulls' relief efforts for the Asia Tsunami victims, there was a post-game autograph session in the arena club. Fans who made a minimum $10 donation participated in this event.

Jan. 8: Gulls players appeared at Cheswick's West after the game against the Fresno Falcons.

Jan. 12: Sean O'Connor, Sean Murphy and the Gulls Girls appeared at Woody Sports Bar and Grille in Escondido. The players and Gulls Girls were on-hand for pictures, autographs and helped promote a big group night for an upcoming home game.

Jan. 18: Koenig and Brian Gornick appeared at King Middle School in Oceanside, promoting the school's big fundraiser with the Gulls.

Jan. 18: Mathieu Chouinard and Sean O'Connor appeared at San Diego Cooperative Charter School, promoting the school's big fundraiser with the Gulls.

Jan. 20: Koenig and Nick Ganga will appear at High Tech High International School in Point Loma, to promote the school's big fundraiser with the Gulls.

Jan. 24: Sean Murphy and Jonathon Shockey will appear at San Diego Charter School at Mesa College, to promote the school's big fundraiser with the Gulls.
