October 12, 2015 - American Hockey League (AHL)
San Antonio Rampage News Release
THIS WEEK'S GAMES
Friday, October 16 at Grand Rapid Griffins Van Andel Arena, 7:00 p.m.
The Rampage will face off against the Griffins for the first time this season at Van Andel Arena. Both teams head into Friday winless on the season and look to turn the tide by grabbing their first win. Last season both teams finished 2-1-1-0 against each other, but San Antonio has been ultimately been on top the past five years posting an 11-3-1-1 record. The Rampage have con- verted on 40% of their power players this season and hope to continue their offensive effectiveness to spoil Grand Rapids' home opener.
Saturday, October 17 at Grand Rapid Griffins Van Andel Arena, 7:00 p.m.
Saturday's game marks the second time the Rampage and Grif- fins go head-to-head on the season. This wraps up the Rampage's three-game road stretch and allows a six-day rest before the home opener at AT&T Center. San Antonio won't see Grand Rapids again until Mar. 20, 2016.
TRUE POWER: The power play has been a crucial part of the Rampage's offensive success in the 2015-16 season. Including the preseason, the Silver and Black are 5-for-11 with the man advantage, including going 2-for-5 in the season opener against Texas on Saturday.
PLAYING A MAN DOWN: Since the start of the preseason, the Rampage have been quite effective when playing with a man down. Opponents have been held to one goal on a total of 10 power plays.
ICE CHIPS: Andrew Agozzino - Rampage Winger In the first game of the season, Andrew Agozinno reached his 100th professional assist with the helper on Max Noreau's first-period goal. This milestone comes in the Kleinburg native's fourth full season as a professional.
Agozinno was effective early on against the Texas Stars with a goal and an assist in the first period. Just a few minutes into the first period, he scored the first goal of the Rampage's season. Agozinno was reassigned to San Antonio on Sep. 30, 2015 by the Colorado Avalanche. Saturday's game was the first in Silver and Black for Agozinno, who looks to be one of the main weapons in this potent offense.
