San Antonio Rampage News Release
THIS WEEK'S GAMES
Friday, Jan. 18 at Oklahoma City Barons
Cox Convention Center, 7:00 p.m.
The Rampage and Barons will meet for a pair of back-to-back games starting on Friday night in Oklahoma City. The Rampage are 3-3-0-1 against the Barons, with the last contest ending in a 3-2 shootout loss.
Casey Wellman leads the way for the Rampage against Oklahoma City this season, tallying a goal and four assists in five games, while Jon Sim has four goals in five games against the Barons thanks to his hat trick on Dec. 15. Home ice has been the story of the season series, as the home club has won all seven games. San Antonio will be looking for their first road win of the season against a divisional opponent (0-8-0-1).
Saturday, Jan. 19 at Oklahoma City Barons
Cox Convention Center 7:00 p.m.
The end to the NHL Lockout has decimated the once high-flying offense of the Barons, as the club lost five of their top six scorers. The Barons have dropped four straight games and six of their last seven dating back to Jan. 1 (1-5-1-0). In their current four game winless streak, the Barons have been outscored, 20-6, and have been shutout twice. Oklahoma City still holds the best home power play in the league (24-for-81, 29.6%) and their power play has been clicking of late, going 7-for-27 in seven games since the calendar turn. The Barons also boast the league's 10th best scoring offense (3.11 goals per game), but the second to last goals against per game (3.21).
LACKLAND OBSTACLE COURSE CHALLENGE- Jan. 15: The full Rampage team will train alongside the Airmen from the 37th Training Wing and Joint base San Antonio-Lackland for an obstacle course challenge. The obstacle course will feature several challenging elements, including a rope swing, log roll, wall scaling, tower climb and monkey bars over water.

GONE CAMPING: Eight Rampage players were invited to Florida Panthers training camp this week (Quinton Howden, Jon Rheault, Drew Shore, James Wright, Michael Caruso, Alex Petrovic, Tyson Strachan and Jacob Markstrom).
GAINING GROUND: The Rampage own a 6-3-0-1 record in their last 10 games and have won four of their last five home games. San Antonio currently sits in 14th place in the league, but the club is only five points out of a playoff spot.
TOUGH DIVISION: If the playoffs started today, four of the five teams in the South Division would qualify, as San Antonio's four division rivals are within the top eight teams in the Western Conference. No other division would have four teams qualify for the postseason.
MILESTONE: Jon Sim recorded his 100th AHL goal in Thursday's 5-1 defeat to Lake Erie.
Sim has tallied six goals and six assists in 18 games for the Rampage this season.
ICE CHIPS: Drew Shore-Forward
Rampage forward Drew Shore scored goals in back-to-back games last week for the Rampage. Shore lit the lamp against Lake Erie on Friday night and at Texas on Saturday. The Rampage have only scored five goals against Texas this season, and Shore has four of those tallies. The rookie forward currently leads the team in assists (19) and is tied atop the league charts with 29 points. Shore's 19 assists is tied for second in the league among rookies. Alongside seven of his Rampage teammates, the 6-foot-3, 190-pound forward is currently attending training camp for the NHL's Florida Panthers.
