
Six Recalled By Blue Jackets

Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons announced that forwards Cam Atkinson, Matt Calvert, and Ryan Johansen and defensemen Tim Erixon, John Moore, and David Savard were recalled by their NHL affiliate, the Columbus Blue Jackets, on Sunday to participate in the club's training camp.
Atkinson leads the Falcons with 38 points and 17 goals and is third and tied for seventh in the AHL in those categories, respectively. The second-year pro from Greenwich, Conn., scored seven goals and added seven assists for 14 points in 27 games with Columbus in 2011-2012. He is 10th in Falcons history with 49 goals in a Springfield sweater.
Calvert is tied for sixth on Springfield with 21 points (11g-10a) this year. In 55 career contests with Columbus, Calvert, a third-year pro from Brandon, Manitoba has scored 11 goals and contributed 12 assists for 23 points.
Johansen, a native of Vancouver, British Colubmia, is second on the Falcons with 14 goals and is fourth with 27 points, while also notching 13 assists. The second-year pro was the fourth overall pick by Columbus in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. He skated his entire rookie season with the Blue Jackets in 2011-2012, accumulating 21 points (9g-12a) in 67 games.
Erixon leads Springfield's defensemen with 24 points, 20 assists, and four goals. He was acquired by Columbus from the New York Rangers this summer as part of the Rick Nash trade. A native of Port Chester, N.Y., the second-year pro garnered two assists in 18 games with the Rangers last year while spending most of the season with the Connecticut Whale.
Moore, a product of Winnetka, Ill., has been inactive for Springfield due to injury since Dec. 16. He has three goals and six assists for nine points in 24 games with the Falcons this season. Moore, a third-year pro, spent the majority of last season with the Blue Jackets, registering seven points (2g-5a) in 67 outings.
Savard has 21 points (3g-18a) with Springfield in 2012-2013. He played in 31 games with Columbus last season, totaling two goals and eight assists for 10 points. The third-year pro from St. Hyacinthe, Quebec is 11th in Falcons history with 68 assists and is second among defensemen in that category.
The Blue Jackets kick off their 48-game schedule and their 12th season of comptetition on Saturday, Jan. 19 in Nashville.
