San Angelo Signs Pitcher Hyatt

Alexandria, La. --- The San Angelo Colts announced Sunday they have signed right-handed pitcher B.J. Hyatt, and placed infielder Preston Lyon on the Inactive List.
Hyatt made his Colts' debut Saturday night, when he pitched two scoreless innings of relief against the Alexandria Aces. It was his first game since 2009.
Hyatt was a fourth-round draft pick of the Houston Astros in 2009. He spent one season in their organization, pitching for the Rookie Ball Greeneville Astros of the Appalachian League. Hyatt went 1-2 with an 8.82 earned-run average in eight games and three starts for Greeneville.
After one season in the Astros farm system, Hyatt underwent shoulder surgery. The surgery and rehab caused Hyatt to miss the last three years.
In order to make room for Hyatt on the active roster, the Colts moved Lyon onto the Inactive List. He is batting .231 with an RBI in seven games as a position player. Lyon also made one relief appearance on Friday in the Colts' 19-1 loss to the McAllen Thunder.
Lyon gave up five runs, four earned, on six hits in three innings. His earned-run average is 12.00.
The Colts continue their four-game series against the Alexandria Aces Sunday night at Bringhurst Field. First pitch is set for 6:05 p.m., and the game can be heard live on 1260 KKSA beginning at 5:50 p.m.
The Colts return home to Foster Field on Wednesday, June 26 to begin a four-game series against the Thunder.
