Cats Can'T Capitalize on Roadrunner Mistakes, Fall in Extras in Edinburg

Despite committing eight errors on the evening, the Edinburg Roadrunners snapped the Fort Worth Cats' three-game win streak on Sunday with a 7-6 walk-off victory.

The Cats (19-11) and the Roadrunners (13-17) traded blows in the first two innings, Fort Worth scoring twice and Edinburg scoring four times.

The Roadrunners added one more in the third and fourth innings to go up 6-2, but the Cats rallied in the sixth to tie the game 6-6.

Neither team scored again until the bottom of the 11th inning when Edinburg pinch hitter Fernando de los Santos hit a walk-off single to end the game.

Cole Stephens started the game for the Cats, going five innings and giving up four earned runs, striking out five. Reliever T.J. Bozeman came on in relief and shut down the Roadrunners' offense. Bozeman gave up only one hit in five innings of relief.

De los Santos' winning hit came off Cats' losing pitcher Trevor Longfellow, who was making his first appearance with the team.

The Cats are in action again on Monday night in Edinburg to play the third game of the four-game series.
