July 2, 2014 - United League Baseball (ULB)
Fort Worth Cats News Release

No, not the English rock band - But better for all baseball fans.

The Fort Worth Cats proudly announce the signing of Fort Worth's own, German and Jose Duran. Jose joined the team Monday night in San Angelo and has started at shortstop the last two nights.

German will begin play on July 3, when the Cats return home for a seven-game homestand that includes fireworks on July 3 following the game, sponsored by Dr Pepper. The following night will be another fireworks display, presented by the Trinity River Vision Authority.

The Duran brothers both attended Paschal High School and had exemplary high school careers. German played for TCU and Weatherford College and was drafted by the Texas Rangers in the sixth round of the 2005 MLB draft. He made his major league debut in 2008 for the Rangers and later was a part of the Astros and Marlins organizations. German has also played in the Mexican League and was an integral part of the Grand Prairie Air Hogs' American Association Championship run in 2011.

Jose played at Texas A&M and was also drafted in the sixth round of the 2008 MLB draft. He has over five years of professional baseball experience, including prior stops in both Fort Worth and Grand Prairie during the 2010 season.

The Cats are seeking their 17th league championship this season and play their regular season home games at historic LaGrave Field through August 17. Tickets and further information can be found at FWCats.com or by calling 817-332-CATS (2287).
