
Saltdogs Sign Former 5th Round Pick Harker

LINCOLN - The Lincoln Saltdogs signed RHP Brett Harker Thursday. Harker was a fifth round draft pick of the Philadelphia Phillies in 2005.
The 26-year old from Fountain Inn, S.C. pitched four seasons with the Phillies, one season with the Florida Marlins - including a start for Class-AAA New Orleans - and pitched for the Schaumburg Flyers in 2010.
Harker has amassed a record of 22-23 with a 4.40 ERA in 171 games. He played collegiately at the College of Charleston, recording 28 saves his final two years in the Southern Conference.
Lincoln signed Harker after placing RHP Garrett Sherrill on the disabled list Wednesday.
