Lincoln Saltdogs News Release

LINCOLN - Phil Hawke and Kevin Rios each launched two-run homers and Tim Brown spun seven strong innings to lead the Saltdogs to a 9-2 win over the St. Paul Saints at Haymarket Park Wednesday night.

Lincoln struck for four runs in the third inning, highlighted by Hawke's seventh home run of the year, an impressive moon shot to center field.

Rios added an opposite-field home run in the seventh to provide some insurance.

Brown (4-4) tossed seven innings, allowing two runs on eight hits while striking out a season-high six to earn the win. Matt Long (4-4) gave up six earned on nine hits in three-plus innings to suffer the loss.

Hawke finished the night 2-for-5 with four RBI. Gavin Dickey went 2-for-5 with a double, three runs scored and a stolen base.

The Saltdogs have the day off Thursday - the club's first day off since May 23 - then open up a weekend series against the Winnipeg Goldeyes at Shaw Park Friday night.
