Sioux Falls 6, Kansas City 3

Sioux Falls plated three runs in the first inning and capitalized on an all-around productive offensive game as they defeated Kansas City 6-3. All six Pheasants' runs were batted in by a different hitter. Kansas City plated one in the top of the first, courtesy of an RBI single by RF Ray Sadler. Sioux Falls responded with three runs in the bottom of the frame on an RBI each from DH Mark Shorey, 1B Brandon Sing and LF Francisco Leandro. The Pheasants added an insurance run in the fourth, seventh and eighth innings. Sioux Falls C Henry Contreras and RF Gus Milner each collected two hits in the game, including a Contreras' solo home run in the fourth. Pheasants starting pitcher Adam Cowart earned the win, tossing six innings and allowing two earned runs on nine hits. Aaron Cotter worked a scoreless ninth to earn the save for Sioux Falls.

Gary SouthShore 5, Fargo-Moorhead 0

Gary SouthShore 2B Brad Boyer had two hits and three RBIs to help lead the RailCats to a 5-0 win against Fargo-Moorhead. Boyer also scored a run in the game. The game was scoreless through six innings until Boyer's RBI single scored LF Adam Klein in the seventh inning and gave the RailCats a 1-0 lead. Gary SouthShore went on to plate two more runs in the inning on RF Cristian Guerrero's RBI single and DH Lorenzo Scott's sacrifice fly. Gary SouthShore expanded their lead to 5-0 when Boyer batted in two runs with a double in the bottom of the eighth. RailCats reliever Will Krout pitched a scoreless one and two-thirds innings and was credited with the win.

Lincoln 9, St. Paul 2

Lincoln 1B Phil Hawke batted in four runs as the Saltdogs rolled past the St. Paul Saints for a 9-2 victory. Hawke belted a two-run homer in the third inning and hit a two-RBI single in the fourth inning to help Lincoln open up a 7-0 lead after four innings played. Lincoln RF Jorge Cortes went 2-for-4 at the plate with two RBIs and a run scored, and SS Kevin Rios hit a two-run home run. Lincoln starting pitcher Tim Brown earned the win, allowing two runs on eight hits in seven innings pitched. Brown fanned six batters in the game. For the Saints, 1B Jason Cooper and 3B Ronnie Bourquin each had an RBI in a losing effort.

Winnipeg 6, Sioux City 3

Winnipeg scored two runs in the third, fourth and eighth inning to beat Sioux City 6-3. Goldeyes LF Justin Bass went 2-for-3 at the plate, including a two-run homer in the fourth inning. Winnipeg 3B Louis Ott and RF Brian Joynt each collected an RBI, and C Alan Rick hit a two-run home run for the Goldeyes. Winnipeg starting pitcher Isaac Hess allowed three earned runs and five hits in five and two-thirds innings pitched, struck out seven hitters and earned the win. For the Explorers, LF TJ Bohn, 1B Kent Sakamoto and SS Ryan Priddy all had an RBI on the night.

Fort Worth 7, Wichita 3

The Cats exploded for seven runs in the third inning en route to a 7-3 win against the Wichita Wingnuts. Cats LF Jeremy Sauceda led off the third with a solo home run to tie the game 1-1. Fort Worth CF Brian Fryer, C Kelley Gulledge and DH John Allen all picked up an RBI in the inning to make it 4-1 Cats. Still in the third frame, SS Cory Morales' doubled in two runners, and Sauceda picked up his second RBI of the inning with a double. In all, there were seven hits in the inning. Gulledge was 3-for-4 at the plate on the night. Fort Worth starting pitcher Mike Bacsik earned the win, allowing three runs on six hits in six innings pitched. For Wichita, DH Josh Workman hit his fourth home run of the season in a losing effort.

Shreveport-Bossier 4, Grand Prairie 3

The Captains capitalized on a three-run sixth inning to defeat the Grand Prairie AirHogs by a score of 4-3. Shreveport-Bossier LF Palmer Karr Jr. went 2-for-4 at the plate with a double, an RBI and a run scored. Captains C Brian Peterson had two hits in three at-bats and an RBI. Both Peterson and Karr Jr. batted in runs in the three-run sixth inning that gave the Captains a 4-2 lead at that point. Winning pitcher Richard Salazar pitched seven innings for the Captains, striking out six batters and allowing two earned runs on eight hits. Captains relief pitcher Dan Griffin worked a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save. For Grand Prairie, 3B Cesar Nicolas went 3-for-4 at the plate with an RBI and a run scored.
