Salt Lake Wins Over Sugar Land 8 - 2

The Salt Lake Bees parlayed four two-run innings into an 8-2 victory over the Sugar Land Space Cowboys on Friday night. After falling behind 1-0, the Bees took the lead with two runs in the fourth on an RBI double by Dillon Thomas and a sacrifice fly by Monte Harrison. They would add two more in the fifth on a bases loaded two run single by Thomas. Salt Lake plated two more runs, both of them unearned in the seventh inning on a throwing error and a sacrifice fly by Kean Wong. The Bees would score two more unearned runs in the ninth on an RBI single by Wong and a wild pitch to close out the scoring.

Salt Lake starter Cesar Valdez (9-5) earned the win, as he went five innings and allowed just one run on four hits with three strikeouts and one walk. Touki Toussaint closed out the game with a three up, three down ninth inning and he finished off the game with back-to-back strikeouts. Thomas led the Bees offense, as he went 2 for 2 with three walks, three runs batted in and two runs scored. Jack Mayfield added two hits and scored one run, while Wong chipped in with one hit and two RBI.
