Salt Lake Bees News Release

SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake Bees will raise money for Huntsman Cancer Foundation during the team's 12th annual 'Pack the Park Pink Night' on Saturday, May 19.

Bees players and coaches will wear special pink jerseys for the occasion that will feature names of Bees fans that have donated to Huntsman Cancer Foundation. The names include Omama, Loma, Deby Groves, Nana Patty Jones and Papa Bill each with a story of battling cancer.

Bees pitcher Ralston Cash will wear 'Ralphie' on his back to honor his father that passed away from cancer in 2012. Cash joined teammates Taylor Cole, Sherman Johnson and David Fletcher in a trip to Huntsman Cancer Hospital on Friday to talk with patients and get a tour of the facility.

Fans wanting to donate at the game can purchase a pink t-shirt on the concourse for a minimum $5 donation to Huntsman Cancer Foundation. Last year, the Bees fundraising efforts combined with Swing For Life to raise $33,900 for Huntsman Cancer Foundation, with all proceeds going directly to the hospital to fund their search for a cure.

First pitch for the Bees pink night comes at 6:35 p.m. against the Sacramento River Cats on Saturday. Tickets and more information is available at www.slbees.com.
