May Leader Board: Three Nashville Sounds find themselves in the top 15 in all of Minor League Baseball in the month of May. Anthony GarcÃa's name is littered across the hitting leaderboard for due to his success this month. He is among the leaders in home runs (6, T-7th in MiLB, T-3rd in the PCL), RBI (18, T-7th MiLB, T-2nd PCL), extra base hits (12, T-7th MiLB, T-3rd PCL), total bases (43, T-11th MiLB, 4th PCL), and slugging (.782, 13th MiLB, 3rd PCL). Sheldon Neuse has struck out 29 times in May, which is the 2nd most in MiLB and the most in the PCL. On the pitching side, Daniel Gossett's three wins are tied for second in MiLB and tied for first in the PCL and his 23 strikeouts are tied for 13th in MiLB and tied for second in the PCL.
Streaking Garneau: Catcher Dustin Garneau has heated up at the plate lately. With his eighth inning home run last night, Garneau extended his hitting streak to a season-long four games. He has driven in a run in each of the four games to become the first Sounds player this season to pick up an RBI in four straight games.
Stranded on an Island: The Sounds left a season-high 12 runners on base yesterday. They have stranded 11 in a game twice, on April 14 vs. Omaha and April 30 at Colorado Springs. Nashville is 4-3 when leaving 10 or more runners on base.
Unlucky #7: Chris Bassitt surrendered seven earned runs for the second time this season last night. It was the fourth time overall a Sounds pitcher has yielded seven earned runs in a game. Bassitt and Raul Alcantara each did so on April 30 at Colorado Springs and James Naile allowed seven earned runs on May 8 vs. Colorado Springs.
