Salazar Pitches Gem in Explorers Win

Lincoln, NE-----Richard Salazar posted ten strikeouts, his career high with the Explorers as Sioux City defeated Lincoln at Haymarket Park Tuesday 7-1.

The lefthander had at least one strikeout in seven of the eight innings he pitched, scattered four hits and walked only one batter in picking up his third win of the season without a defeat as the Explorers evened the series with Lincoln.

Sam Judah led the Explorers 13 hit attack with three hits including two doubles and three RBI's in the victory. Peter Barrows had a three-hit for the Explorers and Eliezer Mesa had two hits to extend his hitting streak to eight games, while Leugim Barroso also chipped in with two hits for the Explorers.

With the victory the Explorers and Lincoln are tied with four wins apiece in the season series with the final game of this three-game series Wednesday at 7:05pm at Haymarket Park.

The Explorers will return home Thursday to begin a four-game series at Lewis and Clark Park against the Central Division leading Wichita Wingnuts.
