
Canaries Add Nats' Former Third-Round Pick

SIOUX FALLS - The Sioux Falls Canaries bolstered their infield on Tuesday by signing former Washington Nationals third-round draft choice Stephen King.
The Nationals selected King, 25, from his high school in Winter Park, Fla., in 2006 with the 91st overall pick. King has spent six seasons in the Nationals farm system. Last year he combined with Class A Potomac and Class AA Harrisburg to hit .248 with 24 doubles, one home run and 32 RBI. King is a career .234 hitter in 562 professional games.
The Canaries roster now stands at league maximum 22 players.
