ANN ARBOR, Michigan - The Fighting Saints scored early and often, and Matt Morris was solid, as the Fighting Saints grabbed a 5-1 win over Team USA in Ann Arbor.

Two goalmouth opportunities gave the Fighting Saints a 2-0 lead after the first period. TJ Moor got the puck from Tyler Lundey and slid it around Collin Olson to give the Fighting Saints a 1-0 lead early on in the game. About nine minutes later, the Fighting Saints struck again when Gerard Hanson corralled a Shane Sooth rebound on a shot from the right circle, and Hanson scored to make it 2-0. Sooth and Jake Downing got credit for the assists on the play.

Five minutes into the second period, Matt Caito sent a puck in from the right point. As it caromed off the end boards, TJ Moor picked it up and scored chasing Olson from the game. After Caito was cross-checked by former Fighting Saint Riley Barber, the Fighting Saints scored on the delayed penalty with Tyler Lundey adding the goal for the Saints against Jared Rutledge. Dubuque failed to score on the five minute major handed to Barber, who received a game ejection. With just four seconds to go in the period, the Fighting Saints would strike again. On a two-on-one rush, Tyler Lundey sent the puck across to Ryan Siiro, who tallied his first USHL goal.

Team USA would add one goal in the third period, but it was not nearly enough. Nikolas Olsson pushed the puck across the goal line to cut the Fighting Saints advantage to 5-1, and that is how the game would end.

The Fighting Saints will travel across the state of Michigan to take on the Muskegon Lumberjacks tomorrow night. Next week will bring a western road swing for the Fighting Saints, as they will travel out US-20 to visit the Sioux City Musketeers on Friday, and will head north to play the Fargo Force on Saturday night. The Fighting Saints are in the midst of playing ten of eleven games on the road; they will next return home on November 4 to play Chicago.
