
Saints Krause Voted to American Association Post Season All-Star Team

ST. PAUL, MN (August 28, 2009) - One of the most prolific offensive players in St. Paul Saints history, Brent Krause, was once again honored by the American Association as he was voted to the 2009 American Association Post Season All-Star Team.
The 27-year-old Krause is once again having another great season hitting .308 with 11 homers and 59 RBI while playing in all 93 games. In 338 at bats he's scored 63 runs with 23 doubles, three triples (tied for fifth in the league), a .497 slugging percentage (fourth in the league) and a .415 on base percentage. He's also 15-19 in stolen bases and leads the club in walks with 55.
Krause is one of three outfielders selected to the Post Season All-Star Team. The other two are Brian Fryer of Fort Worth and Greg Porter of Wichita.
Krause is currently riding an eight game hitting streak and at one point reached base safely in 22 consecutive games from June 28-July 23. He's slugged two grand slams, giving him four in his three year Saints career, the most in franchise history.
Krause was selected to the All-Star Game and went 1-2 at the game in Grand Prairie, TX. It was the third consecutive season he was selected to the American Association All-Star Game.
In the past two seasons Krause has had his contract purchased by a Major League organization. In 2007 he was signed by the Baltimore Orioles and was sent to Single-A Frederick where he hit .275 with five homers and 20 RBI in 39 games. In 138 at bats he had nine doubles, scored 22 runs with a .449 slugging percentage and a .351 on base percentage.
Last season he was signed by the Milwaukee Brewers organization at the end of the Saints season. In three games at Double-A Huntsville he was 3-8 with a double and two RBI. This past off season he was invited to Spring Training with the Brewers and played in two Major League Spring Training games.
This is the second consecutive Post Season All-Star Team Krause has been selected too. The awards were selected by the leagues 10 managers and 10 media representatives from each team. The entire 2009 American Association Post Season All-Star Team is below:
