Saints, Goldklang Group Partners With Reel Hardball To Provide Unique Latin American Tribute
June 23, 2010 - American Association (AA)
St. Paul Saints News Release
The Goldklang Group, a sports entertainment consulting and management firm, has partnered with Reel Hardball Productions to provide fans a Latin American Tribute Movie Night at several of their venues. The event will be held on the following dates: Hudson Valley Renegades (NY) July 20, Charleston RiverDogs (SC) July 24, and St. Paul Saints (MN) August 18.
"We have been exploring ways in which to pay tribute in our own unique way to the Latin American community on a Group-wide basis, recognizing the influence they have had in baseball as well as our communities," said Tyler Tumminia, Vice President of Marketing and Operations for the Goldklang Group. "We are excited to partner with Reel Hardball in this endeavor, as they present a Latinthemed stand alone event."
The Reel Hardball brands represents a collection of baseball's best independently produced films, and premiered on MLB Network this past off-season to national publicity and acclaim. This series of non-theatrical screenings are an extension of the season one series of films, which include HOLY LAND HARDBALL, COBB FIELD: A DAY AT THE BALLPARK, and SPACEMAN: A BASEBALL ODYSSEY.
SPACEMAN, which features former Red Sox great Bill Lee barnstorming through modern day Cuba, will be the featured program for the Latin American tribute, in addition to content provided by MLB Network, and the Goldklang Group's BE YOUR OWN FAN TV (www.byoftv.com).
Each event will have a concentrated marketplace, "El Mercado", consisting of sponsor booths and interactive product opportunities, as well as a production element of themed interviews shot with fans to be featured as short format segments both online and during future Reel Hardball programming. "El Mercado" will support the event infrastructure by featuring Latin music and food, promotions in connection with sponsor partners, and endemic product for fan interaction.
These multi-faceted pockets of activity will allow fans a more visceral ballpark experience than a normal game day, allowing rare access to the playing field, the ability to engage in baseball related activities-and through the content on display- view the game of baseball from a uniquely "Latin" perspective.
"We are thrilled to be partnering with the Goldklang Group to create events that bring together some of the best things about summer: movies, food, and being outdoors with friends and family," said Brett Rapkin, Partner in Reel Hardball and Director of the SPACEMAN film. "It's going to be a lot of fun."
