
Saints Give up Four Long Balls, Lose 6-3

ST. PAUL, MN - The St. Paul Saints know when they face the Omaha Storm Chasers chances are the ball is going to leave the ballpark. After giving up three home runs on Thursday night, they gave up four more on Friday night and couldn't overcome the barrage of long balls in a 6-3 loss at CHS Field in front of 7,034.
For the third consecutive game Bobby Witt Jr. got the Storm Chasers on the board with a home run in the first. His solo homer to left, 15th of the season, made it 1-0 Storm Chasers.
The Storm Chasers got another solo homer in the fourth, this time from the leagues home run leader. Ryan McBroom hit his 28th of the season putting the Storm Chasers up 2-0.
The Storm Chasers continued to add to their lead in the sixth as Lucius Fox led off with a single to center. Witt Jr. doubled to the left-center field gap scoring Fox to make it 3-0. Nick Pratto walked and, with one out, McBroom walked to load the bases. A sacrifice fly from MJ Melendez increased the Storm Chasers lead to 4-0.
The Saints answered back in the bottom of the inning as Gilberto Celestino doubled down the third base line with two outs. Mark Contreras followed with a fly ball double down the left field line scoring Celestino to cut the Saints deficit to 4-1. Jimmy Kerrigan's ground ball base hit into left-center scored Conteras getting the Saints to within 4-2.
In the seventh, Erick Mejia put the Storm Chasers up 5-2 with a solo homer to right, his fifth of the season.
The Storm Chasers hit their fourth home run of the night as Ryan McBroom hit his second solo shot, this time to center, his 28th of the season, making it 6-2.
The Saints added a solo homer of their own in the bottom of the inning as Tomás Telis slugged his career tying high 11th long ball of the season, a solo shot to left, cutting the deficit to 6-3.
The same two teams meet in the fifth game of the six-game series at CHS Field on Saturday night at 6:05 p.m. The Saints send RHP Jason Garcia (0-0, 18.00) against Storm Chasers RHP Brandon Barker (1-2, 8.53). The game can be seen on the Saints Broadcast Network, cable access channels in and around the Twin Cities, and MiLB.TV and heard on KFAN Plus, 96.7 FM.
