
Sanchez, Llovera, Dohy combine for one-hitter

(Worcester, MA) - Cristopher Sanchez (5-6), Mauricio Llovera, and Kyle Dohy combined for a one-hitter on Friday night in a 6-0 win against the Worcester Red Sox (62-48). The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (49-60) recorded their fourth shutout win of the season and seventh all-time one hitter. The last time they saw an opponent record one hit was on May 1, 2018, against Buffalo.
Matt Joyce hit a two-run home run against Kutter Crawford (2-4) in the top of the third inning that gave Lehigh Valley a 2-0 lead. Sanchez left the game after five shutout innings in which he gave up just one hit with four walks issued and seven strikeouts.
The Pigs scored two runs against Seth Blair in the top of the sixth inning to extend their lead to 4-0. Jorge Bonifacio scored on a groundout by Arquimedes Gamboa and Charlie Tilson hit an RBI single to score Darick Hall.
Lehigh Valley scored another run in the top of the seventh inning when Andrew Knapp scored on a passed ball. The lead was extended to 6-0 in the top of the eighth inning when C.J. Chatham scored on an RBI groundout by Tilson.
Mauricio Llovera pitched three scoreless innings while issuing one walk and recording three strikeouts. Kyle Dohy, who last appeared with the IronPigs in May, struck out three batters in one inning of work.
The lone hit for Worcester was a single by Taylor Motter in the bottom of the second inning. The Pigs and WooSox play a double-header tomorrow afternoon beginning at 2:05 p.m.
