The Sacramento River Cats (64-41) lost 10-3 to the Portland Beavers (51-54) on Wednesday at Raley Field in West Sacramento, Calif. RHP Erik Hiljus (10-7) took the loss for Sacramento, allowing 6 ER on 10 H in 5.0 IP. RHP Steve Watkins (1-0) earned the win for the Beavers.
Sacramento managed just three runs in the game, one in the fourth and two in the eighth. 3B Luis Lopez hit an inside-the-park home run, just the second inside-the-park home run in River Cats history (Mark Bellhorn, 2000). With the loss, Sacramento is 31-18 in 49 games at Raley Field.
