Sacramento Doubles-up On El Paso, 6-3

The Sacramento River Cats scored five early runs and beat the El Paso Chihuahuas 6-3 Friday night at Southwest University Park. It was the fifth straight win for Sacramento and the sixth straight loss for El Paso.

The Chihuahuas' three runs came on a two-run home run by left fielder Matthew Batten and when Eguy Rosario scored from third base on a wild pitch. El Paso designated hitter Tirso Ornelas went 1-for-4 with a single to extend his hitting streak to 10 games. Chihuahuas second baseman Tim Lopes went 1-for-3 with a single and now has the third-most hits in the Pacific Coast League with 121.

El Paso starter Matt Waldron pitched a season-high seven innings in the loss. San Francisco Giants outfielder Mitch Haniger went 0-for-4 in an MLB Injury Rehab game Friday.
