
SaberCats announce date for first playoff game

SAN JOSE, Calif. (May 18, 2006) - The 2006 Western Division and two-time ArenaBowl Champion San Jose SaberCats will play their first playoff game of the 2006 Arena Football League postseason on Saturday, May 27 at 12:30 p.m. (PT) in HP Pavilion at San Jose, the club announced today.
The SaberCats will host an American Conference Semifinal playoff game against the highest-remaining seeded team from the Wild Card Round, which takes place this weekend.
By winning their respective divisions, the SaberCats (#2) and Colorado Crush (#1) received the top two seeds in the conference and a first round-bye.
American Conference Wild Card Round games have No. 3 Arizona (8-8) hosting No. 6 Utah (7-9) on Saturday and No. 5 Chicago (7-9) at No. 4 Nashville (8-8) on Sunday.
The club also announced that tickets for the May 27th game will be priced the same as a regular season game with no increase. Tickets start at $15 for lower level endzone seats and are available through any Northern California Ticketmaster outlet, online at Ticketmaster.com or at the HP Pavilion box office.
Season ticket holders who received a ticket booklet at the beginning of the season should use the ticket marked 'Game A' for admission to the arena on May 27. More information is also available at the team's official website www.sanjosesabercats.com.
