Everett Silvertips News Release

EVERETT, Wash. - Dominik Rymon capped off a busy weekend on a high note, as the Everett Silvertips bested the Tri-City Americans 2-1 in overtime Sunday night at Angel of the Winds Arena.

Lukas Kaplan opened the scoring 11:16 into the second period, cutting across the slot on an odd-man rush and lifting a wrist shot over the glove of Americans' netminder Ryan Grout for his third of the season. The game would remain 1-0 until late in the third period.

Jake Sloan finally poked a loose puck past Jesse Sanche to tie the game with 5:07 remaining in regulation time, sending a tight contest into extra time.

Tarin Smith's overtime backhander was sent wide of the net, with a lively rebound off the endboards landing fortuitously on the stick of Rymon. The Czech winger tucked the loose puck into a yawning netmouth at the far post, giving the Silvertips a 2-1 victory.

Jesse Sanche finished with 38 saves on 39 shots. The Tips improved to 34-6-7 with the win.
