
Ryan Lang Activated off IR, Defenseman Reid Placed on IR

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades president and general manager in coordination with head coach Malcolm Cameron have announced that goaltender Barry Brust has been returned to Houston (AHL). In an unrelated transaction, forward Ryan Lang has been activated off the injured reserve while defenseman Elgin Reid has been placed on the 7-day injured list.
Goaltender Barry Brust has been returned to the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League. Brust spent just two days with the Everblades before being returned to the Aeros, the AHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild. He is expected to be in the lineup tonight for Houston as they battle Peoria at home. He has appeared in three games with the Aeros this season and posted a 2-1-0 record with a 2.43 goals against average and.904 save percentage.
From December 19, 2009 to January 27, 2010, Brust won six straight starts and improved his record to 9-3-2 with a 2.24 goals against average and a.926 save percentage, which leads the ECHL. Brust has also recorded three shootout wins in five chances which is tied for the ECHL lead. He has been involved in five shootout contests stopping 25 of 30 (83%) shots in the shootout this season.
Forward Ryan Lang has been activated off the injured list after missing six games due to injury. Lang has 10 goals and 19 points in just 35 appearances this season. Defenseman Elgin Reid has been placed on the seven day injured reserve. Reid was injured in the Everblades game last Friday night against the Trenton Devils (5-4 win). The Milton, Ontario native has appeared in 33 games this season for Florida and tallied four goals and nine assists for 13 points and registered 36 minutes in penalties. Reid also did receive one promotion to the American Hockey League with Albany appearing in two games and registered one assist.
