ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Alaska netminder Frank Doyle has been named ECHL Goaltender of the Month for January 2010.

Doyle, 7-2-2 with a 2.21 GAA and a.932 save percentage during January, had been acquired from Charolotte January 2 in exchange for "future considerations." The Aces announced today that Matt Stefanishion, who ranked fourth on the team with 14 goals this season, will fulfill those considerations and complete the deal with the Checkers.

Doyle's month included a six-game winning streak capped by a 37-save shutout of Las Vegas January 16, Alaska's first whitewash all season and a performance that earned him ECHL Goaltender of the Week honors for January 11-17. Including his five appearances with Charlotte, the 29-year-old Doyle ranks third in the ECHL with a 2.58 GAA and tied for second with a.921 save percentage.

The Aces open a three-game series with Bakersfield at Sullivan Arena tonight at 7:15 p.m. The series continues Friday and Saturday at 7:15 p.m. All three games will be broadcast live on KFQD 750 AM, with Peanut Farm Pre-Game Show coverage getting underway at 7:00 p.m.
