
Robinson, Aiello Share AMI Graphics ECHL Plus Performers For January

Graphics ECHL Plus Performers of the Month for January are rookie
defensemen Mat
Robinson of the Elmira Jackals and Anthony
Aiello from the Stockton Thunder, who both finished the month with a
league-leading plus-minus rating of +12.
Robinson was even or better in 10 games including going +3 in three of his
last four games. He had a career-best three points (0g-3a) and tied his
career high with a +4 performance in a 7-2 win at Toledo on Jan. 22. He had
10 assists and four penalty minutes in 12 games to help the Jackals go
7-4-1 and move into second place in the East Division.
The 23 year old is in his first year with Elmira and has registered 22
points (4g-18a) and 18 penalty minutes in 43 games. Robinson played in four
games for Las Vegas in 2008-09 and had two points (1g-1a) and two penalty
minutes. He is under contract to Binghamton of the American Hockey League
and has played in two games for the Senators. The Calgary, Alberta native
played four years at University of Alaska-Anchorage from 2005-09 and had 44
points (9g-35a) and 105 penalty minutes in 143 games.
Aiello was even or better in 13 of 14 games in January including a
career-high +3 at Idaho on Jan. 2 and against Utah on Jan. 16. He was +2
against Bakersfield on Jan. 10 and on Jan. 27 against Victoria.
The 23 year old had seven points (2g-5a) and eight penalty minutes to help
Stockton improve to 20-17-7 and move into second place in the Pacific
Division. Aiello leads the Thunder in plus-minus rating with +12. He joined
Stockton in November after playing three games with Florida and has 13
points (4g-9a) and 20 penalty minutes in 28 games.
Selected in the fifth round (129th overall) by Minnesota in the 2005
National Hockey League Entry Draft, the Braintree, Mass. native played four
seasons at Boston College and had 35 points (5g-30a) and 142 penalty
minutes in 132 games from 2005-09.
