
Ryan Brasier to DL; A.J. Ford rejoins Kernels

June 8, 2008 - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announce today that RHP Ryan Brasier has been placed on the disabled list with a lower abdominal strain and that RHP A.J. Ford will join the Kernels from Extended Spring Training in Tempe, AZ.
Brasier was named to the MWL Western Division All-Star Team as a reserve. He has appeared in 23 games for the Kernels with a 1-3 record and 1.59 ERA and a team-high nine saves.
Ford appeared in two games for the Kernels this season and has allowed four hits in 2.2 innings with a walk and two strikeouts. He has no record and a 0.00 ERA. He will join the team in Cedar Rapids before they leave for Beloit on Monday morning.
With today's transactions, the Kernels roster stands at 25 active players with two players on the disabled list.
The Kernels are on the road to end the first half of the MWL season with games at Beloit and Kane County. The next home game is Thursday, June 19 at 7 pm when they host the Quad Cities River Bandits.
