MIDLAND - More than 20 hours after the original start of the game, the Whitecaps finally completed game two of Saturday's double header against the Loons with a 10-1 victory. There were two rain delays totaling nearly two and a half hours, including an hour-and-a-half delay on Sunday. The seven-inning game was originally part of a double header Saturday night but was suspended in the bottom of the fifth inning, two outs short of an official game. Paul Nardozzi pitched 4.1 shutout innings for the Whitecaps before play was stopped due to lightning on Saturday. Kelvin Cedano pitched two innings to earn the win. Following a 1 hour, 20 minute rain delay in the bottom of the seventh, Noah Krol recorded the last two outs to close out the win. In his first game as a Whitecap, Hayden Parrott singled in his first at bat to lead off the third inning. He later scored on a single by Angel Flores to put West Michigan in front, 1-0. Audy Ciriaco went 3-for-5 in the game with a solo home run to lead off the fourth to make the lead 2-0 and an RBI single in the fifth to give the Whitecaps a 3-0 advantage. He also double home a run during a three run rally in the seventh Jordan Newton drove in two runs on his seventh triple of the season. The Whitecaps sent eleven to the plate in the top of the fifth against Loons reliever Jon Dutton who threw 48 pitches. Dutton walked four batters and allowed four hits in the inning. Preston Mattingly scored the only Loons run of the game on a solo homer to lead off the seventh.
